We are excited to launch a new free suite of dementia specific training and resources. Our new Advance Project Toolkit (Dementia) makes initiating courageous end-of-life conversations and assessing palliative needs of people living with dementia, easier to enable better care.

It has been identified that people living with dementia and their carers often don’t have the opportunity to discuss advance care planning and access to palliative care, resulting in unmet needs.

Our dementia specific training and resources have been specifically created for clinicians, managers, and careworkers in aged and primary care settings, to build greater confidence, capacity, and skills.

Findings from the study informed development of the second phase of The Advance Project. In the second phase of The Advance Project the program was expanded to also include training and resources for General Practitioners and Practice Managers, to enable team-based initiation of advance care planning and palliative care needs assessment in general practice settings.
